Just a few reminders for this week:
-Unit 6 Math Test Tomorrow. Students were given a study guide today. We went over all of the problems in class. They should be taking this study guide home so that they can review for the test tomorrow.
-6 Flags "Read to Succeed," sheet was due today for those who wanted to participate. If your child forgot to bring theirs in, I will accept them tomorrow.
-Students have been working on their Explorer Reports in class. They may work on them at home. All report are due March 2. Directions for the reports were send home in paper form and an e-mail was sent with all of the information. If there are any questions, please let me know.
-Parent/Teacher Conferences are scheduled for this week starting Wednesday. If you have any questions or need to know the day or time of your conference, please let me know.

I can't believe the end of the second quarter is this Friday!!! How fast time is flying. In the next 2 weeks, we will finish our fraction unit, begin our reports on explorers, and continue to write stories that are persuasive. Also on January 22, the students will have an assembly about the Cookie Dough fundraiser for Camp Timber-Lee. This fundraiser is for individuals. Anything that you sell will come off your child's price for camp. Right now it is looking that Camp Timber-Lee will cost each student around $125. More information and a time-line will be sent home on January 22. We will have the complete Camp Timber-Lee packets for you at parent/teacher conferences at the end of February. If there are any questions, please let me know.
Kindness week begins next week: Tuesday, Jan. 16 is Wear Your Shirt Backwards Day, Wednesday, Jan. 17 is Wear your Favorite Team Day, & Thursday, Jan. 18 is Crazy Hair Day. We will also be participating in kindness activities in the classroom and at school.

Welcome to Busy December!!!! December is one of our busiest months and I can not believe it is already here. We have the Spelling Bee, Classroom Holiday Party, The Great Jeffery Raffle, Santa Gift Exchange, Snowflake Ball, and the Jeffery Movie Night all happening in December!! Flyers for these events came home this week. Please check your child's folder or backpack for the flyers. If you are missing something, please let me know.
The Great Jeffery Raffle has started this week too. This is a Camp Timber-Lee fund raiser for us. Tickets came home yesterday. Please try and promote this fund raiser. The money raised will go towards our busing to and from the camp. We can send home extra tickets if you need them.
A green flyer came home today with information about the student gift exchange that we will be holding on December 19. Students are asked to bring a $1.00 wrapped gift for a girl, boy, or either. We will be exchanging gifts at our holiday party.
We will be holding our classroom and grade level spelling bee this week. On Tuesday, Dec. 5 will be our classroom bee, and on Friday, Dec. 8 (this is a change from the flyer that was sent home) will be the grade level bee. Practice sheets were sent home for students to practice before Thanksgiving.

Nov. 11, 2017
-Today your child should be bringing home a permission slip to the Golden Rondelle. This is a free field trip so no money will be needed. Just sign the permission slip and return ASAP.
-Thank you to those who will be donating items for our Great Jeffery Raffle. Any donation will be very helpful. We will except donations all the way up to Nov. 27. We will begin ticket sales on Wed. Nov. 30. This is a Camp Timber-Lee fund raiser that will help with busing costs. If you have any questions, please let me know.
-We will have a Unit 3 math test on this Thursday. A study sheet will come on Wednesday.
-The weather has definitely been changing. Please make sure that your child brings a coat, gloves, scarves etc to school. We will go out for recess everyday unless it is raining or extremely cold. We have many students who want to come in because it is too cold, or not dressed properly. If it snows, students will only be allowed to play in the snow or on the mounds if they have boots and snowpants on along with their coats, hats etc. If there are any questions please feel free to ask or see the school handbook.

Classroom News
Happy End of September!!
I can’t believe we have finished our first month of school. We have taken our fall MAPs tests (results will be given at conferences), finished one unit in math, taken our first math test, started an in-class project in social studies, had our first Gremmy awards assembly, and our class has earned their first Gremmy behavior award. We have been busy. Here are some upcoming events happening in October:
-Jeffery Fall Festival information was sent home today. You can pre-pay for tickets so that you do not have to stand in line at the party. The PTO is also asking for 2 liter bottles of soda donations for the party from the 5th grade.
-Book order forms were sent home on Thursday. With these orders, you can send the form back with money (checks made out to Scholastic) or on-line order. Info and web-site to order on line are on the order form.
-Unit 1 math test was given on Thursday. As soon as everyone has taken the test (we had some students who were absent), I will send the test home. Please look over and review with your child, then sign it and return the next day. I will use the tests at Parent/Teacher Conferences at the end of October.
